Vubu: Ancients of the Skies

iPhone / iPad - July 2012

Vubu is a logic puzzle game developed for iPhone and iPad with Clickteam Fusion. The goal of the game is to get the Vubu pieces to the exits on the board. All the Vubu move in the same direction and in unison so careful planning is required to avoid losing a Vubu to a trap or a ledge. Each Vubu has its own unique movement attribute: Wise Men will not move onto traps; Blind Men don’t dare to move without another Vubu next to them; Stone Men petrify when adjacent to another Vubu; Dragons spew fire in all 4 directions after every move.

This game was a solo project of mine. The Vubu pieces and title treatment were 3D modeled and rendered in Carrara. The rest of the graphics and menus were created with Photoshop and After Effects. I composed an original soundtrack for it as well.

Hive Bomber

PC - In Development

Hive Bomber is a retro arcade shooter in development for PC. Gameplay consists of battling bees and other insects while bombarding bee hives

Each hive has 4 randomly placed honey “cores”. If you get all four, the hive self-destructs. However, even numbered hives contain a randomly hidden queen which must be destroyed as well. Queens possess an impenetrable energy shield which is powered by the honey cores, so optimal gameplay involves getting the honey before releasing the queen.

Hive Bomber is also a solo developer project. The graphics were created using a combination of Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop. The game’s art direction and gameplay were inspired by the vector graphic arcade games of the early 1980s. An original soundtrack is currently in development.
